Day 194 - You Know What I Love?

This is a picture of a bird. Yes. You know what I love? Ikea. I was in Ikea today. You know what else I love? Decathlon. I was in Decathlon today. You know what else I love? America... I wasn't in America today.

Shout out to all my friends who are in other countries right now!! (and that's a lot of them actually)

Day 175 - Los Estados Unidos!

So this picture seems rather appropriate for today. It's of the American flag Corinne brought me back from America last year, with my fairy lights.

The picture is appropriate for various reasons -

• Dear Vikki is currently cruisin' round America and will be for another good while!
• Dear Corinne leaves tomorrow morning to cruise around America for a good while!
• Dear Samantha will also be leaving in the not so distant future to cruise round America!
• I already miss / will miss the above a lot!!

aaaaannd.....

• I'm talking to Americans on Skype...
• Those fairy lights are really pretty and I think I'll turn them on more often! (okay that was more of a train of thought than a reason...)

But I said goodbye to school for the last time before results day today, so summer has officially begun!! :D And a good summer it shall be! I hope all of you have a truly wonderful summer, whether you're in America, Northern Ireland or anywhere! :)

Day 92 - We're All Here Together!

Today was my brother's birthday - he is now fifteen! He refused to let me take a picture of him (even on his birthday!) so I took a picture of my sister instead... =)

Tonight I went to see Taylor University Gospel Choir perform in one of my local village halls. My friends and I brought the average age of the audience down to about 65, but I had such an amazing night! We raved at the back, dancing and clapping our socks off. There were many hilarious moments, for example the crazy dances (YMCA, Walk Like An Egyptian and I don't even know!), chatting with some of the choir (italics = Americans, normal = us)

• "Do you know many leprechauns?" "Yeah, sure! I'm dating one right now actually! He's called Brian!"
• "Is 'ginger' an insult?" "That depends... if you're like 'ugh, you're ginger', then yes; if you're like 'oh! you're ginger!', then no."
• "Is it true that the rivers run with Guinness?" "Of course! What do your rivers run with?"

There were some really uplifting moments though, the choir were so accepting of everyone there, and the amount of joy that radiated from the hall that night was unbelievable. I haven't seen a group of people that happy in a long time, and the fact that most of them were old people, bouncing around and laughing was brilliant! Fantastic =)

Day 90 - Let Your Light Shine...

I like walking, even in the dark. The city (not really... town) lights around me are strangely pretty, and the world is an orange hue from the lamps as I walk around. I find walking helps clear the mind of all the clutter, all the noise that's raving inside your head, and you feel relaxed and refreshed. At least it's like that for me, anyway.

Tonight, to celebrate being off for Easter, I went out to a BBQ at a local church where some Americans (not the angry / happy CCU mob... some different ones from Kentucky) were leading. It was a pretty good night! I enjoyed myself! =)

Day 69 - ACTION!!

Today I started filming for my Moving Image Arts film! It's awesome seeing the film you've been planning and thinking about for months finally come to life! Soon I'll be going out to get the rest of it filmed... when my movie is finally finished I will upload it to the blog, but this won't be for another month or so! I won't give away any plot spoilers ;)

Thanks to all the people who volunteered to be in the film, and apologies to those two randomers who got dragged into it... I don't know who you are but thank you! Big thanks to my friend Mich for volunteering to be my main character (love) and a big cheers to my drama teacher for performing magnificently!! It's so much fun yeeooing at, throwing paper at, and generally being cheeky to a teacher for the sake of creativity! Fun stuff!

Also... met my American friend Kylie for the first time since summer today =) I love her!!! Its funny how you see someone you haven't seen in months and it's like they never left!

Day 8 - The American Accent Is Something Of Beauty

WEEKEND! And I have survived over a week of Project 365! It's surprisingly difficult to come up with different things to take pictures of every day... and I've only been doing it for a week! =P haha hopefully I'll get more into it as time goes on and be able to spontaneously take a picture of anything!

So about this picture - I do like it, it's of my American friend Bill shuffling some Uno cards (I don't know why he was doing this, we weren't even playing Uno!) He knows what makes a good picture (we have the same camera - camera buddies!) so he told me to take a pic of his hands shuffling the cards. I liked that I idea so didn't use flash and it turned out pretty good I think!
